10/02/2013-Sorry kids! I've been sidelined and have sadly neglected the reports. Good news is nothing has changed. The fish are biting just as they were. Today's pool winner was a Wednesday regular, Major Roane....he took the pool with a puppy drum. Sorry Lucky Les...can't win 'em all! But Lucky Les Kyle, Jr. was a contender with a 22inch weakfish...Also 35+ kingfish (Capt Jim's favorite), bluefish, limited out on weakfish, with steady action all day the minute the line hit the bottom. THIS IS THE BEST TIME TO FISH PEOPLE. OPEN BOAT WEDNESDAY, FRIDAY, AND WEEKENDS. BOOKING CHARTERS OCT AND NOV. CALL 856-447-3281.

09/15/2013-Captain Jimmy tells me they did very well today on weakfish and on bluefish. Plenty of room on the boat folks. Flounder season will be over on the 24th. Don't miss your chance for a flattie! REMEMBER CLOSED MONDAY AND TUESDAY FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON, UNLESS YOU WANT A CHARTER.

09/14/2013-Today's change in the weather.....cold and nasty...left us with a nasty, slow day.

0913/2013-Major Roane had more to celebrate today than just a birthday. He won the pool with a beautiful 26 inch flounder. HAPPY BIRTHDAY IT WAS!! Also there were plenty of bluefish and some weakfish. Ron Kayser of Pitman had a particularly nice weakie. Pics coming soon.

09/02/2013-Plenty of weakfish, flounder, bluefish today. HAPPY LABOR DAY!!! Plenty of room on the boat. See ya Wednesday!!!!

08/31/2013-09/01/2013-YOU MISSED SOME BEAUTIFUL FISHING ACTION. Captain Jim said the weathermen ruined a beautiful weekend. We never saw a drop of rain here in Fortescue on Saturday or Sunday and the fish are biting. But....that's okay. Jimmy and I got to enjoy our holiday weekend together!!!

08/30/2013-Myron Regent from Gandy's Beach, NJ took the pool today with a beautiful 25 inch flounder. Plenty of nice weakfish, croakers, and blues today.

08/27/2013-Can you say ROUGH CONDITIONS? Well, today's Wilson Charter started out with just that. Not a good thing for a great group of folks who want to catch fish. It was pretty rough this morning with quite a few people feeling a little under the weather. There was some diehards and the weather finally calmed. Good news is even in rough weather they took home 5 flounder and some croakers. Just goes to show...the weatherman can't be trusted!!!! It has been quite a crazy summer. Captain Jim hopes they won't be discouraged in coming back again because it was just not good weather for fishing.  He enjoyed the crowd!

08/24/2013-Good news....I can post photos again, so keep an eye out for you and your catch on the 2013 FISH PIX page. It was a little chilly and windy this morning but ended up being a beautfiul day. Plenty of bluefish. Nice keeper weakies and 4 nice flounder. Poolwinner today was a 22 inch flattie.

08/21/2013-Lucky Les Kyle, Jr. has bragging rights once again. He had a beautiful flounder, which won the pool today. Plenty of croakers, spots, weakfish, bluesfish too.

08/16/2013-Unfortunately there has been a problem for the last month trying to load photos to the site and no word yet when the problem will be fixed!!!!Not good. But there is good news. Now that the weather is back to summer again the boat has been out and THE FISH ARE BITING. Plenty of beautiful weakfish, croakers, and some bigger blues. But a big flounder took the pool. Four nice flounder today, one caught by local resident Myron Regent of Gandy's Beach. Get the frying pan out Judy! Closed for Charter Saturday. See ya Sunday!!!! Bring blood worms.

08/14/13-Rough water today with all of that wind. Is it really August? Plenty of hardy fishermen though and we have some beautiful weakfish today. Croakers, spot, flounder and blues. Come on down.

08/07/2013-Poor weather report.....but the REGULARS and a few others took the opportunity to get out on the Delaware Bay and do some fishing today. Weather report was slightly off when it came to rain, but it was pretty breezy and MISS FORTESCUE was dancing today.  And fish they caught!!! Capt. Jimmy says three beautiful keeper weakfish today. An unbelievable size of kingfish..They are biggest he's seen in years. Guess that means.pretty big...and croakers, well they were also the biggest of the season at a pace to fill the coolers. One regular Wednesay fisherman, Snap Gulledge, caught so many beautiful spots,,,,,he gave up. He had enough and just stopped. That is great news....The Bay is alive and jumping. Bring bloodworms. REMEMBER...DO NOT GO BY PHILADELPHIA WEATHER REPORTS....CHECK OUT DOVER, DE.

08/04/2013-Poolwinner today was a bluefish, but we are catching nice weakfish. Check out Nolan Greene of Bridgeton, NJ  and young Dylan Deblaker from Deptford, NJ. They both bagged a weakie! Look for their pix on the 2013 FISH PIX page.

08/03/2013-Couple of keeper flounder and nice bluefish. Left and came in a little early due to the tide and the 2nd trip. Check out the pix. CONGRATULATIONS MEGHAN WREN FOR MAKING YOUR GOAL OF SWIMMING FROM DELAWARE TO FORTESCUE, NJ AND FOR ALL THE EFFORTS YOU GIVE TO EDUCATING EVERYONE ABOUT THE BAY!

08/01/2013-HAPPY AUGUST!! Where is the time going? No fishing today. Rain, rain, go away and don't come back until next spring. OPEN BOAT ON SATURDAY IS LEAVING 6AM.

07/31/2013-The Wednesday crowd had another productive day. The poolwinner was Mr. Eddie Johnson, who took home a puppy drum. Major Roane took home a nice weakfish. Lots of blue fish. Regulars Steve and Bill both took home nice flounder, too. And Lucky Les also caught fish. Thanks for the tomatoes, Les!

07/30/2013-Another beautiful day on the bay. Perfect weather! Croakers are bigger and still catching kingfish.

07/28/2013-Poor weather conditions kept us at the dock today. Remember Dover has about the same weather Fortescue has....not Philadelphia. Please read about the swim across the Delaware Bay on the SWIM 2013 page above. People are making history right here in Fortescue. Don't miss it.

07/26/2013-Beautiful day on the Delaware Bay today. Plenty of croakers. Poolwinner was a beautiful flounder. Check it out on the 2013 FISH PIX page. Les Kyle, Jr. had to have a picture of his bluefish, too. We got to have a flounder dinner, too. Thanks Captain Jimmy! MMMMM

07/24/2013-The record is over......(anyone remember that song?)...And...we have a winner...and it wasn't lucky Les!!!Steve Scheule, Woodstown, NJ (my favorite dentist) stole the show right before Miss Fortescue headed in with a very nice bluefish!! Plenty of croakers and kingfish still are reigning out in the bay.

07/23/2013-SMASHEY'S EVERYWHERE!!  Miss Fortescue chartered the Smashey Family and friends today.I think the mate has CTCS (carpal tunnel croaker syndrome). He cleaned enough fish to feed an army. Nice spots, too. Reminder: SUNTAN LOTION!!!! Of course, a lady took the pool....Renie Smashey...I would show you the picture but she was camera shy.

07/20/2013-The heatwave seems to be keeping folks home but for those who came down today....they had plenty of room on the boat and got to eat flounder and croakers for dinner. Check out the flounder on the 2013 FISH PIX page above. Mr. Jim Lloyd  of Avondale, PA  bagged at 22.5" and Mr. Ray Yorks of Bloomsburg, PA bagged a 19.5 inch fluke. AND....CHECK OUT THE SWIM 2013 PAGE...Miss Fortescue will be supporting Meghan Wren and her mission to swim 13.1 miles across the Delaware Bay on August 3. Please join us in supporting her very important effort.

CHECK BACK TOMORROW TO LEARN MORE ABOUT AN INCREDIBLE LADY, WHO LIVES LOCALLY, WHO IS ON A  MISSION...AND HOW CAPTAIN JIM AND THE MISS FORTESCUE ARE GOING TO BE INVOLVED!!!! DON'T MISS IT!  MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR SATURDAY, AUGUST 3RD...A BAY SWIM FROM DELAWARE TO FORTESCUE....SUPPORT THE CAUSE AND GET INVOLVED!!!

07/19/2013-Hey Captain Jimmy... Happy Anniversary to us and looking forward to many more. Thank you.  But back to the boat..... it was quite a nice surprise to see our long lost fisherman and one time mate, Mr. Bill Youst, waiting for the boat to dock today. He and Carol took the long haul to NJ in this soupy mess for a weekend visit. We were just talking about ya.....And, have I said this before? I really am getting tired reporting that Les Kyle, Jr. took the pool again.... for the 6th time in a row. But good for him! This time his bluefish beat out the rest...Flounder are unpredictable, but there are plenty of keeper croakers. Today produced 2 keeper weakfish, 2 keeper flounder, plenty of croakers,  and a 95 degree day. There was a bay breeze all day. We will be out SATURDAY AND SUNDAY..(and the good news is that Les won't be on the boat until next Wednesday) COME ON DOWN.....

07/17/13-I hate to tell ya but Lucky Les Kyle, Jr. from Pedricktown, NJ took the pool for the 5th time in a row. What's his secret? Well....have to tell ya he is a faithful fisherman who fishes twice a week.Way to go, Les!!!! His flounder today beat out all of the rest. The bite wasn't quite up last week but the fish are biting and we are still getting quite the mixed bag. Drink your fluids!!! Heatwave is the word......

07/14/2013-Steamy weather....better than stormy weather? Not sure. Flounder fishing is picking up. We had another decent day for keeper flounder, and lots of king fish. Pool was split today. One winner was Jim Bowker, W. Deptford, NJ. Check out his flounder on the 2013 FISH PIX page above. CLOSED MONDAY.

07/13/2013-WE HAD 15 KEEPER FLOUNDER TODAY!!!Check out the 24 inch, 5 lb. weakfish that took the pool......by Michale Sheller....the poolwinner young man from last week. He bagged that beauty at the end of the trip, beating a beautiful 22 inch flounder caught by Joe Karlo of Philadelphia, PA. John Martorano had his cooler loaded with croakers and flounder. Check out their photos from today on the 2013 FISH PIX page above. Be sure to bring some blood worms. Lots of croakers, nice weakfish, and 1/2 dozen bluefish.

07/12/2013-The Friday fishermen put up with some damp, drizzly, and sometimes very rainy weather today. Les Kyle, Jr. took the pool today with a 23 inch flounder.  Somebody stop this guy! Plenty of room on the boat and the fish are BITING!!! BRING BLOOD WORMS. Captain Jim brought home kingfish and weakfish.

07/06/2013-Beautful weather on the Bay today. Poolwinning fish today was bagged by the youngest fisherman on board, Michael Sheller from West Chester, PA, outfishing everyone man and woman today with a 21 inch flounder. WAY TO GO!!!  Check out his picture on the 2013 FISH PIX page above. Plenty of bluefish action today. Nice sized keeper croakers are coming over the rail pretty steady. A few weakfish are still being bagged, too.

06/30/2013-Doormat flounder fisherwoman Rebecca Rizzo from Runnemeade, NJ took the pool today with her 24 inch flattie. Husband Bill Rizzo took home a 3 pound weakfish. Check out their photo on the 2013 FISH PIX page. Still getting a mixed bag of kingfish, croakers, flounder, blues, and weakfish. Check weather for Dover....not Philly.

06/29/2013-What is going on? Sort of a slow day today. A few nice fish but the bite was a little slow today.

06/27/2013-Plenty of room on the boat today. The catch today included nice weakfish and flounder. Still quite a few kingfish and bluefish, too. See you tomorrow.

06/26/2013-Capt. Jim called it a success today. Everyone went home with fish. There were 7 keeper flounder today with more kingfish, weakfish, bluefish, and croakers. 06/21/2013-The fish didn't bite today like they did on Wednesday. Could the "Super Moon" have something to do with it? We'll blame it on that....but the small croakers seem to be getting bigger. And Major told me he threw back plenty of short flounder. There's always tomorrow.

06/20/2013-Not enough fishing folks to make it out today.....Looks like Wednesday, Friday, and weekends are the best days to ensure we are sailing.TOMORROW LOOKS LIKE A GREAT DAY TO FISH!!!! Myron is in town and we are happy he will be fishing. Captain Jim says the fish are biting on BLOOD WORMS AND SHEDDER CRAB!!!

06/19/2013-The Wednesday crowd had a chilly morning for June.....but by the end of the day everyone had a really nice weakfish. Two keeper flounder....one caught by Major Roane who thought he had the prize was nosed out by poolwinner Steve Scheule, Woodstown, NJ who bagged a puppy drum. Sorry Major. Still plenty of kingfish coming over the rail, too. Check  out the pics on the 2013 FISH PIX tab above.

06/16/2013-HAPPY FATHER'S DAY! Today's trip was still more of the same...kingfish, weakfish, flounder and weakies.

06/15/13-Poolwinner Jim Bowker's Father's Day trip from Chrissy and Lisa proved a good present. He took the pool today with another beautiful weakfish. Seems fishing is steadily picking up and Captain Jim said everyone on the boat caught fish....they all brought blood worms and had a great day.

06/11/13-The PRECISION METAL CRAFTERS charter today was a great group who made the best of the day with some bluefish, kingfish, weakfish and small croakers. Fishing was a little slow, with a good breeze. Jack Conklin from Downingtown, PA took the pool today with a bluefish. Check out their group shot on the 2013 FISH PIX page.

06/09/13-Poolwinner today was longtime fisherman Jim Bowker of West Deptford, NJ. Check out his 5 pound, 25 inch weakfish on the 2013 FISH PIX page. Plenty of weakfish, and croakers, and lots of kingfish. CLOSED TUESDAY FOR PRIVATE CHARTER. See ya Wednesday, weather permitting.

06/07/2013-Rain, rain....go away....tomorrow does not look good either. Sunday looks like our next trip. Remember to check weather for Fortescue or Dover, DE....not Philadelphia.

06/07/2013-Thursday began with choppy conditions and continued all day. The Happy Birthday trip put up with rocking and rolling but managed to catch a couple of kingfish, a couple of croakers, and one nice weakfish. They were a nice crowd and it is too bad the weather was bad. We're gonna blame the bite on the weather.

06/05/2013-Everybody on the boat caught weakfish today and we had to throw a lot of keepers back. You can thank the state regulations for raining on the parade. Over 35 kingfish were bagged. Poolwinner Steve Scheule from Woodstown, NJ took home a 21 inch weakfish. We also had 3 nice keeper flounder today. Even bagged some keeper croakers. So it was quite a day and be sure to check out the 2013 FISH PIX page above to view the catch!! Remember we are CLOSED on Monday. We also have a CHARTER booked for Tues, June 11 and are closed, too.

06/01/2013-Good news.....Keeper FLOUNDER today! Still a little slow and catching a mixed bag of smaller croakers, weakfish, and bluefish.

05/31/2013-The Captain brought home dinner today....Kingfish and bluefish! Thanks Jimmy! It was a beauty of a day out on the bay. Hey....where the heck is everyone? Plenty of room on the boat. Looks like another balmy day is due for tomorrow. Come on down and do some fishing!! Tomorrow is BAY BAY in Bivalve, NJ....if you have never been to this event it is FREE! Much to do and they have plenty of fun for kids....learning about the oysters, the bay and all it offers, our state Tall Ship the A.J. Meerwald, crafts and food and fireworks at the end of the event! Check it out if you get the chance.

05/29/2013-Nolan Greene of Bridgeton, NJ took the pool today. It was another mixed bag today to include bluefish, throwback short stripers, croakers, kingfish, and weakfish. This season is getting off to a slightly slow beginning but with the nicer weather on the way the bay should begin to really warm up and the fish will be moving in.

05/22/2013-It was quite the mixed bag today to include kingfish, bluefish, lots of small croakers, some short stripers, and some throwback flounders.....We need some good weather. Flounder season is getting off to a slow start but we haven't been out on the Bay due to this crazy weather.

5/18/2013-Opening Day for flounder...and lots of eager fishing folks. Undesirable winds did not help make it a very nice day to be out on the Bay. Half a dozen throw back flounder, along with throwback weakies, and some small croakers was all she wrote.

******FLOUNDER SEASON BEGINS SATURDAY-MAY 18TH******

05/15/2013-Too windy for fishing this morning. Looks like FRIDAY is going to be great weather to get out. Might need some bug spray at the dock in the morning.....hungry gnats have arrived.

05/07/2013-Captain Jim said the Wednesday crowd should consider making Friday the day to go out. Weather conditions are looking better for that day. Tomorrow looks like it is a NO GO. Tell your friends. FISHING FRIDAY-MAY 10TH.

05/07/2013-HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO CAPTAIN JIM. X0X0-Kathy & Bentley

05/04/2013-Our 2ND day out on the Bay today. Thanks to our eager customers for coming to Fortescue looking to bag the big one....but it just wasn't meant to be. Sadly the very windy and chilly conditions throughout the morning prevented some serious fishing. And as the winds did die down a little, the fishing really did not pick up. I was at the dock to see them come in. A nice group of people including some fishing kids. Can't wait for this windy spring to hit the road!! NEXT OPEN BOAT-WEDNESDAY, MAY 8TH.

05/02-03/2013-Gusty winds and too few customers for fishing.

05/01/2013-It was great seeing everyone today and happy to know they are all alive and kicking. Unfortunately.....the fish are still alive and kicking in the bay!!! It was pretty windy all day and although Steve Scheule from Woodstown, NJ managed a few blowfish (actually a poolwinner first) the only other fish biting today were some small ling. That being said, we are now OPEN BOAT and will be fishing again Friday-May 3RD. Like they say, "if at first you don't succeed......"

04/20/2013-It's almost time to start the new season. The winter months seemed to fly by too quickly this year. Fortescue is still pretty torn up from hurricane Sandy and it has been hard for many residents, especially those on the waterfront. We did manage a beautiful vacation to the Bahamas and I have already gotten to go kayaking on the Bay. Spring is here and Captain Jim has MISS FORTESCUE ready. She'll be in the water this week.

OPENING DAY, WEDNESDAY-MAY 1, 2013. For the month of May we'll be fishing WEDNESDAYS, FRIDAY, AND WEEKENDS....weather permitting. Check out the Higbee Yardsale April 28, 2013.

When in Costa Rica....be sure to try zip lining  above the Arenal Lake and volcano doing 50 mph.
