07/30/2017-Flounder pounder Nolan Green limited out today with 3 fish over 20 inches. Nine flounder in total onboard today. Captain Jim says lots of bluefish action with at least 25 of them coming over the rail. I have been asking the mate to send me the photos for weeks. So....blame it on him folks. Hoping to post them asap. Plenty of room onboard. August is here and summertime is flying. GO FISH!
07/22/2017-The dinner cruise to JPs Wharf across the bay in Bowers Beach, DE was a great time. Proprietor Roberta and her staff were as great as the food. MMMMMM....crab balls are so good! Everyone enjoyed the evening and we were thankful for the weather holding off til we got home. Thanks Captain jimmy and Mate Nick.
7/19/2017-Now is the time to come fishing.....today Captain Jim took the Wednesday crew out for some summertime action. Poolwinner Jim Bowker, West Deptford, NJ had a 24 inch, 6 pound flattie, beating out the other 14 flounder bagged today. Captain Jim reports at least 100 bluefish, keeping the whole boat busy. He says now is the time to come fishing. The fish are here! SEE YA saturday, Keith! Sorry for the lapse in reports. I am busy but ask mate for pics...and tell him i am still waiting for him to email so we can have bragging rites!
07/18/2017-The Sonny Charter from Fortescue had a dozen keeper flounder today....and 60 bluefish. A beautiful day on the bay. BIRDS ARE WORKING AND FISH ARE BITING.
06/10/17-STRONG WINDS PREVENTED A TRIP
ON FRIDAY. BUT TODAY'S FISHING FOLKS ENJOYED A BEAUTIFUL DAY. TOO MANY WEAKS TO COUNT...UP TO 24 INCHES TODAY. CAPTAIN JIM SAID HE SAW THE BIGGEST KINGFISH EVER SEEN IN HIS 36 YEARS ON THE BAY TODAY. AND LEAVE IT TO A LADY TO BAG A KEEPER FLOUNDER, VICKY BRENNER FROM MULLICA HILL SHOWED THE GUYS HOW TO CATCH A KEEPER. LES KYLE, JR BAGGED A FEW PUPPY DRUM...MMMMM. SEE YA SUNDAY!!! Lots of room on board ...come early
06/03/17-THERE IS A FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING AND THIS MORNINGS RIDE OUT CAME ACROSS A SNOOZING HUMPBACK WHALE. MISS FORTESCUE PULLED UP NEXT TO THE FLOATING MAMMOTH IN DREAMLAND...CAPTAIN JIM SAYS HE COULD HAVE REACHED DOWN AND TOUCHED IT. GOOD NEWS WAS THE WEAKIES WERE BITING ON BLOODWORMS. NICE TO SEE KEITH BACK ONBOARD TODAY. HE RETURNED 3 UNDERSIZED FLOUNDER TO THE BAY. POOLWINNER EINSTEIN BAGGED THE BIGGEST WEAKFISH, AND HAPPENED TO OUTFISH HIS BUDDY TERMITE. ALTHOUGH TERMITE DID MANAGE A SMALL FOUNDER AND SKATE! THE BAY IS STEADILY WARMING. GO FISH!
05/31/17-THAR SHE BLOWS....THE HUMPBACK WHALE LIKES CHECKING OUT THE MISS FORTESCUE. SOME COOL KODAK MOMENTS WITH CURIOUS DOLPHINS, TOO. BUT THE BEST FISHING WAS MOST OF THE MORNING. PLENTY OF WEAKIE ACTION TODAY. SOME KINGFISH MADE IT INTO THE BOX, TOO.AND THE SHY FLOUNDER HAVE YET TO BE BAGGED. POOLWINNER TODAY WAS LUCKY LES KYLE, JR WITH A 23 INCH WEAKIE. PRIVATE DRUM TRIP TOMORROW NIGHT. CHECK BACK FOR REPORT.
5/27/17-A BEAUTIFUL DAY ON THE DELAWARE BAY. EVERY MAN HAD A WEAKIE IN THE BOX. PLUS, A FEW NICE KINGFISH WERE BAGGED. NOLAN GREENE WAS HIGH HOOK TODAY. TRIED FOR FLOUNDER BUT THEY DID NOT BITE. WE NEED KEITH....WHERE ARE YOU? IF YOU WANT WEAKS....BRING BLOOD WORMS. FLOUNDER REGS...3 FISH AT 17 INCHES IN DEL BAY! Sea ya tomorrow..weather is looking good.
05/24/17-OPENING DAY FOR FLOUNDER. GOING FOR FLOUNDER SATURDAY AND SUNDAY AND MONDAY, WEATHER IS LOOKING OK AS OF TODAY. BRING MINNOWS AND BLOOD WORMS. CAPTAIN JIM SAYS THERE ARE PLENTY OF KINGFISH AND WEAKFISH OUT THERE ,TOO. SOME ARE REALLY NICE SIZED. SATURDAY WEATHER IS LOOKING GOOD. COME EARLY. HAPPY AND SAFE MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND TO EVERYONE.
05/23/17-THE RIDE OUT THIS MORNING TURNED INTO A WHALE WATCHING TOUR. CAPTAIN JIM FOLLOWED TWO DIFFERENT HUMPBACK WHALES GIVING THE FISHING FOLKS SOME GREAT KODAK MOMENTS. POOLWINNER KEN BLACK FROM DREXEL HILL HAD A 23 INCH, ALMOST 4 LB. WEAKFISH. EVERYBODY ON THE BOAT TOOK ONE HOME. PLENTY MORE WERE CAUGHT BUT WENT BACK UNTIL NEXT TIME. EVEN FLOUNDER HAD TO BE SENT BACK TO THE BOTTOM. FLOUNDER SEASON OPENS 5/24/17. CHECK WEATHER FOR FORTESCUE, NOT PHILADELPHIA.
O5/17/17-THE AFTERNOON DRUM TRIP INCLUDED ME! IT WAS GREAT TO SEE THE WEDNESDAY REGULARS...AND A FEW NEW REGULARS. THE RIDE DOWN THE BAY WAS PERFECT WITH SUNSHINE, DOLPHINS, PELICANS, AND HOPES OF BAGGING THE BIG ONE. FRESH CLAM AND CRAB FOR BAIT...THE FIRST HIT TOOK ITS TOLL ON THE LINE.BUT THE POOLWINNER, JOE PASSETTI OF BUENA, DID A SPECTACULAR JOB OF LANDING HIS 48 POUND DRUM. PRETTY IMPRESSIVE CONSIDERING HIS LIGHT ROD AND A FEW TANGLES ON THE SIDE. IT WAS A GREAT TRIP REGARDLESS. I HAD A VISION OF REELING IN THE BIG ONE..BUT NOT TONITE! THE GROUP WAS FUN AND OPTIMISTIC. 05/15/17-SATURDAY WAS A WASHOUT AND SUNDAY WAS MOTHER'S DAY. CAPTAIN JIM IS RUNNING OPEN BOAT WEDNESDAY THRU SUNDAY AND IS CURRENTLY BOOKING DRUM CHARTERS. CAPTAIN JIM IS OFFERING 6 TO 8 PERSON DRUM CHARTERS, AS WELL AS LARGER CHARTERS. CALL FOR RATES. NEXT WEDNESDAY BOAT IS CLOSED. SORRY.
05/10/17-OPENING DAY BROUGHT BEAUTIFUL WEATHER AND KINGFISH FOR THE COOLERS. A DOZEN KINGFISH WERE CAUGHT AND CAPTAIN JIM SAID IT LOOKS LIKE IT IS GOING TO BE A GOOD YEAR FOR THEM. ALSO CAUGHT WERE LOTS OF THROWBACK WEAKFISH AND A DOZEN OR SO STRIPED BASS. POOLWINNER DEBBE P. OF VINELAND, NJ HAD THE BIGGEST KINGFISH.
